Semeion is an ever-evolving light and sound installation exploring Artificial Intelligence from an aesthetic and humanistic point of view. While AI is already an integrated part of our lives, it often exists as intangible systems working behind the screens. In Semeion, the AI manifests itself in several large minimalist structures, that individually and collectively respond to human presence. The viewer is invited to suspend their predispositions about AI, and engage with it in an explorative and curious way. 

 

 

Semeion is commissioned by Catch and Roskilde Festival and will be shown at Roskilde Festival, Click Festival and SXSW throughout the spring 2019. Through its encounters with festival visitors, Semeion will evolve over time, changing its light and audio expression as it learns from humans, and it forms an identity as its own being.

Semeion is created by Circuit Circus, a Copenhagen-based art and design studio that focuses on creating novel and curious encounters with technology.
